There are countless ideas for science projects no matter what your age or grade level. There are so many questions in the world that need answering, especially if you're a kid, there's a whole big world out there for you to understand. The first step to choosing a science project is to choose a category.
The main categories are Astronomy which is the study of the stars, planets, universe and solar system. Biology, which is the study of all living things, plants and animals, and the relationships between them and their environment. Zoology, which is the study of animals, and Chemistry which is the study of substances and their transformations.
Earth Science is the study of the Earth, Engineering which studies the function of a machine or mechanism. Environmental science is the study of sources and their control; ecology, recycling, reclamation, restoration, composting, acid rain, and affects of pollution.
Microbiology is the study of microorganisms; bacteria, virology, protozoology, fungi, and yeast. Physical Science is the study of matter and energy and Mathematics uses numbers and symbols to study amounts and forms.
Once you have chosen a type of science that interests you, you can then choose a topic within that category to do a project on. Once you've picked a topic, think of a question within that topic that you'd like answered. And there you have it - ideas for science projects! Then you can begin your project. Be sure to make a hypothesis before starting, which is what you think the answer to your question will be, and then you can do the actual experiment to find the answer, then write up a report and display your findings.
